Mimi Muray Levitt (1943-2025) Michael (Mimi) Muray Levitt, long-time resident of Alta and Moab, UT, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Sunrise at Holladay, Millcreek, UT. She had been a resident at Sunrise since August, 2024. She was 82 years old. Born in New York City on June 7, 1943, she was the daughter of renowned photographer Nickolas Muray and Margaret (Peggy) Schwab Muray. She attended North Country School in Lake Placid, NY and graduated from Finch College in New York City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. In 1966, she move d to Alta, UT to work at the Alta Lodge and pursue her love of skiing. She held several positions at Alta Lodge, beginning with her first assignment as a front desk clerk (“deskie”), eventually becoming reservations manager and guest liaison.
